Team Joyce enjoying Dressage

Sarah & Trish ventured out to Boneo Park with LH Albert and LH Lily Puss before University starts again next Tuesday in Wagga Wagga. It was nice to try something different Team Joyce enjoying Dressage , yes our main passion is Showjumping but why not venture out spread ones wings and have a go in another Equine field. The South Eastern Dressage Club are running a set of 4 shows over two months offering all levels. Sarah and Albi are HRCAV Level 1 , Lil and I are Level 4. There were so many competitors probably partially due to such a wonderful venue lots of horsey people love going there . Team Joyce have not been back to Boneo Park since last year in October and that was to showjump. Today Wes and Josh were coming along to support us in the world of Dressage. Our times were pretty close to each other which made the whole day out very enjoyable. Click on pictures to enlarge

Sarah felt LH Albert warmed up very nicely, she was keen to start her first test. The movements shown by the two were very pleasant to the eye. Albi has this very fluent swing , his ears are pricked constantly along with Sarah’s constant smile. Wes and I were so proud to sit and watch them strut their stuff. Travers, extensions and shoulder ins are all many steps ahead of what I hope to one day achieve on Lil. Its a dream but everyone has to have some. Watching my daughter doing what she does out there in the Dressage ring are some of what I hope to aspire to later in my life. Sarah rode so well and Albi responded by completing both tests smoothly with no fuss. It is very nice to watch a horse looking like they love what they do and that is exactly what you see looking at him. Achieving two 5th placings and reading so many positive comments about the horse and rider encourages one to return another day.

I was only one hour after Sarah’s last test, luckily Wes called both my tests for me which helps immensely so that I can concentrate on sitting up straight & looking ahead all the basic stuff as I need all the help I can get just to execute the movements. My Wezzy has such a grand voice for this I love it I can hear it very clearly. I had the pleasure of my parents watching me and their close friends as well , it made me a tad nervous at first and was relieved to complete both tests without any dramas. Lil Star just wants to please ‘ honestly her vibe is very unique being a mare as well some say ,’ I would never have a mare’ . Once you have experienced a grand mare like Lil you would want mares all the time she is very special , I am sure many others have a mare like Lil out there as well.

I got lucky but it means the world to me & Lil Star ‘ …LH Lily Puss

It was our 1 year anniversary on April 22nd ,what a grand prize for us to claim.

To our amazement we achieved a 1st place out of 35 riders in Test 4.3 to place 5th overall out of the two tests. I could not hold back my  delight even Wes, Josh & Sarah shared the same emotions. We are looking very forward to the next time we can venture out to another Dressage competition together in a few months time. Click on pictures to enlarge
