Sarah and LH Albert 3 day camp

Sarah took her new horse down to Wonthaggi Pony Club grounds to attend a 3 day camp full of top quality tuition in Dressage, Showjumping and Cross-country. They arrived on Wednesday night and Sarah had made Albert his own taped yard. It was going to be his first time staying away and in an electric yard. Sarah said he floated down well and seemed happy to just eat his Barastoc Competitor pellets and grass hay.First thing the Thursday morning Sarah had a Dressage lesson, Albert put his best 4 hooves forward and tried to do every task asked of him. Then they had a Cross-country lesson and he really did shine here as he just boldly cantered along jumping everything he was pointed at all with his ears forward I might add. Then the last lesson of the day was Showjumping and Wes and I were there to watch this lesson and were most impressed and very proud to see our talented daughter cope once again with the task of riding a youngster through the grids and doubles set out perfectly by Mr Jim Brown  for training horses , giving confidence and learning the discipline  of showjumping. The first day was fantastic and Sarah did say if this is an indication of the next 2 days she was extremely excited!

By the last day on Friday the extreme heat was enough to call it a camp well done and finished. They started the first lesson at 7.30am and had all the lessons done by 12pm. Everyone was happy to pack up and take their wonderful steeds homes after once again the best camp in South Gippsland. The committee do a fine job in catering for all the families and 80 horses/ponies for the three days and supply perfect grounds and great instruction. You are all to be congratulated on a superb job!

LH Albert proved he is very willing and capable of having a good go at new things, his kind temperament has won Sarah over ten fold and their next outing will be a few bush rides around home and having alot of relaxing fun rides. Stay tuned to see how the pair go at the first showjumping event in February.

Can we also take this moment to Congratulate Sarah on being accepted into a double degree at Charles Sturt University,  studying Bachelor of Veterinary Science/Bachelor of Biology, it is so wonderful that finally you are studying what you always dreamed of!
