Maffra Agricultural show 2014

Team Joyce attended Maffra Agricultural Show for the 17th year! This is truly a great show and the committee have worked very hard to bring all competitors upgraded facilities for all disciplines not just showjumping. The only thing that is a little awkward is the water and power situation. It will be perfect once this can be achieved. The jumping arena is fantastic and holds up nicely considering all the jumping rounds over the two days. Team Joyce left on Thursday afternoon and loaded  LH Johnny, Bolero, Fly and Ulouve on the Beast. We were lucky to get a great parking spot right on ring side.

On the Friday the new yards and parking paddock filled up very quickly with floats , trucks and horses. I had fun having a quick glance around and enjoyed watching some cows being groomed for their class.

LH Johnny went in the Open 1.10m and jumped a lovely clean round but in the jump off Wes wanted to go take a very sharp turn and parted company. Tiffany is working at the moment so hence why Wes was riding him. The main class was not on until very late actually it was the very last class so the day was a long one for Fly, Bolero and Ulouve. Starting at heights of 65cm meant it was not until 6pm until the 1.25m started with 25 competitors. Bolero had the very last fence down in the first round, Fly and Ulouve jumped clean making the jump off. Fly again jumped a lovely clean round placing 2nd  and Ulouve had the last fence down, Wes was going quite quick may I add placing 6th.

On the Saturday the 1.30m was the second last class of the day and started at about 4pm with about another 20 riders. Wes jumped clean on all three horses in the first round and was in the jump off with another 6 horses, so there ended up being 9 horses. Fly was first to go and had the second part of the double down but had a great time. Ulouve also jumped fantastic and again had the last fence down and again Wes was travelling to it at a mighty speed. Bolero jumped a fabulous clean round and as he is not ready to go very quick yet, Wes just looked after him and confidently cleared every fence with ease. Bolero placed 2nd, Fly was 4th and Ulouve was 5th.
