Team Joyce spent the glorious day at the Sale show grounds riding our young horses at the Freshmans . The weather was amazing in Sale, not a breathe of wind and the sun was shinning all day. Wes took LH Adele and LH Pugsly and Sarah took LH Albert. We arrived just after lunch when the 1m started in Ring 1 and the 75cm in Ring 2. It was very easy to place the horses in the yards when we unloaded, both horses need more practice tying up they still seem to get a fright from noise or sudden movements and one worries if they did pull back tied to the truck then break loose and run off, or if we use a neck tie the pull back and then come flying forward into the truck probably damaging themselves. Young horses are a different plan when going out, they need constant care and have your wits about you or accidentally one can get hurt from uncertainty. Most horses do not mean to deliberately hurt you they are a flight animal and tend to just scare themselves.
Sarah and LH Albert
LH Adele was only broken in back in Jan so this is only her second time out and her eyes beamed when she stood in the yard. LH Pugsly has been out 4 times before so he was quite relaxed really and LH Albert he was so unperturbed not much unnerves him.
Sarah took LH Albert over to the 75 cm and he jumped a lovely calm round.

Wes took LH Pugsly straight into the 1m and it was terrific to see Sale jump club have a lot of fill and dazzles on course because this is exactly what our youngsters needed to see!
Then it was LH Adele’s turn, she was very tense with all the other horses going around but was easily encouraged once she rode around for a few minutes.

Sarah then had another go in Ring 2 and jumped in the 90cm with another perfect round.
Wes took his two back but for the 1.10m in Ring 1 and to our delight both of them jumped terrific. All in all it was a success for all 3 Lals Haven horses, we loaded up to go home and get ready to drive to Tullamarine airport to pick up our Tiffany.
