Wes’s Remarkable Comeback: A Journey of Determination, Horses, and Healing ??
It’s been a long road back, but Wes and Inca DP are really starting to hit their stride.
After undergoing major hip replacement surgery last year, we knew the road to recovery would be tough. The surgeon made it clear—it would take time, patience, and a lot of hard work. There simply was no other option; Wes could barely walk and was living in constant pain. But in true Wes fashion, he faced the challenge head-on.
Fast forward to now, and we’re in awe of his determination and grit. Not only is he back in the saddle, but he’s jumping over 1.30m again. For anyone who knows the sport, starting back on young horses adds another level of difficulty—they’re not always smooth, and certainly not as easy to ride as the seasoned horses Wes was used to. But that hasn’t stopped him.
He’s been working closely with Inca DP, a talented mare who is really coming into her own. She will be available in the near future for riders looking to compete confidently over 1.30m+ courses. A beautiful opportunity for someone ready to take the next step.
Another exciting prospect is LH Vanzy, a true family favourite. Tiffany did an outstanding job starting her, and now Wes is enjoying the process of bringing her along. The two are working towards competing in Future Stars classes later this year—and we’re all excited to see where this partnership goes.
This journey has been one of perseverance, purpose, and passion—and we couldn’t be prouder to see Wes doing what he loves most, with some very special horses by his side.
Stay tuned for more updates on Inca, Vanzy, and Wes’s progress as we head into an exciting second half of the year.
