A Birth to Remember
What an absolutely amazing experience it was watching LH Lady Jane deliver her beautiful twin boys — and sharing it with my grandchildren made it even more special.
It was truly a textbook birth and an experience we will remember forever. You can even hear Jonty say, “Hello… hello!” after the second twin arrived. And Millie kept saying, “Well done Lady Jane,” while gently patting her.
Lady Jane was so receptive to us being there, and even the kids were able to get up, walk over and have a little pat. Watching them experience something so natural and beautiful is one of the ultimate reasons for having a farm.
These moments teach children so much about life — patience, kindness, responsibility, birth, new life and the incredible bond between animals and people. There is simply nothing quite like learning these things firsthand.
We have now had 13 does kid, with just 3 left to go! It has certainly been a very busy time here at Lals Haven Goat Stud, but also an incredibly rewarding one.
And these two little boys certainly made all the long days and sleepless nights worth it.
